What and WhereShrove Tuesday is the last day of celebration before Lenten observation (not including Sundays). Think "Fat Tuesday." It is the last day of the liturgical season historically known as Shrovetide (ok, that was the first time I've heard of "Shrovetide"–I like it!) Shrove is derived from Old English word "shriven" which means to hear confession (for absolution before lent). For further information on the tradition, you can start with this article, "The official name for Pancake Day is Shrove Tuesday. But what is it?"
ACHS is hosting its own Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner tradition at the church building, 6401 E 2nd St, Suite F, Prescott Valley, AZ, before we observe Ash Wednesday the following evening.
